The Last Time I Saw You Anthology

the last time i saw you coverTwo years ago, my brother passed away and his absence has left an empty hole in me. The aching grief that I’ve experienced has been so hard to bear. I looked for people that could relate to me and my situation, I searched for books on the subject of siblings, I joined different groups, and I reached out to local grief counseling sites, and support groups. But it just seemed that there was a general lack of sympathy for the mourning siblings.
As a writer, I wanted to change that, so I spoke to those that I’ve met in groups, and that have had such loss, and collected their stories within these pages. Through writing support, and love, we came together to remember our lost brothers and sisters in The Last Time I Saw You.

If you, too, are a sibling, and you have experienced this pain, feel free to find our group online at: The Last Time I Saw You Anthology, or any of the Siblings groups on Facebook.

The saying goes, “Lose a parent, lose your past; lose a child, lose your future. Lose a sibling, lose your past, present and future.” This beautiful collection of sibling love demonstrates the profound and often forgotten grief that siblings face. Reading each story allowed me to see that I was not alone.

This is an emotional compilation of stories from people who have experienced the heartache of losing a sibling. The stories explain the events leading to the loss, the journey of grief and the memories that are cherished. Siblings are often called the forgotten mourners so this book captures the journey from the siblings pony of view in the hope for people to know they are not alone.

This was such a helpful and healing book. It is so beautifully written and such a beautiful way of paying tribute to loved ones. Each story will touch your heart knowing you are not alone on this journey. Siblings share a special bond of unconditional love. People who have not walked this journey have no idea the depth of pain, siblings go through. We are often the overlooked. It is comforting knowing you are not alone.

This book allows those of us who have lost a sibling to identify with others that have gone through a similar experience. It is a compilation of true stories written by many individuals who have experienced the death of a sibling. Honest. Heartbreaking. Powerful. Each person’s unique story is a testimony of the love they had and will always have for their sibling, and a reminder to all that the deep pain we feel after this death of a loved one is the price we pay for our deep love.

This book illustrates that those of us that have lost siblings all have the same feelings. We are often forgotten, left behind in the grief of our parents losing a child. Others ask us, “how are your parents?”. Few people ask us how we are. This collection of stories is a beautiful reminder of how important sibling relationships are and leads us on a separate journey of sibling love as each story is read.

This book has stories from people who have lost a sibling. I found something I could relate to in many of them. It is an interesting take on sibling loss which there isn’t much out there about.
